Books

I’ve been known to write from time to time.

Available books

While my story is still being written, these are the books that I’ve written in some format or another. I’m probably just getting started, but you never know.

Are you tired or always hustling? Do you feel like everything is left up to you? Do you wish you could accomplish more with even less effort? Well then, I have some good news for you.

As a recovering doer, this is the book I wrote to reinforce the lessons of rest modeled by Jesus. It’s much easier than we’ve made it out to be. And He’s much better than we could ever imagine.

Impactful books

As I share books—especially ones I’ve written—I would be remiss were I not to share the books that have most influenced and impacted me. If you hang around me long enough, you’ll hear me mention authors such as Watchman Nee, T. Austin Sparks, Frank Viola, Andrew Murray, Brennan Manning, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., A.W. Tozer, and Dietrich Bonhoeffer, among many others. Check ‘em out—and while you’re at it, consider my tips for reading more books.

eBooks

What I’m about to share with you are projects that I find quite unpolished, but that’s okay. I’m a work in progress, myself.

With that in mind, I’ll just let you wade through the work on your own time and see what adds value to you. Someday, I’ll revisit these. Or perhaps I won’t. Whatever the case, here they are, in all their unrefined glory.

Future books

I only recently began writing books, but it’s something I intend to do over the rest of my life. The books I plan to write later will focus on my central themes, including contrarian Christian living, dynamic community building, and healthy sonship and fatherhood.

Some of the books I have considered writing about these topics include tentative titles such as:

  • Childlike: Why the Church Needs More Sonship, Not Leadership

  • The Anything-But-Nice Christian: Discovering a Saved and Unsafe Life in Christ

  • (Un)macho: The Fight to Become a Real Man of God

  • Simplifying Discipleship: Fulfilling the Great Commission as Nothing More than a Friend

  • Planted: Rethinking and Cultivating Spiritual Growth

  • Lack: God’s Strategy for Completing Us Together

  • The Mysterious/Simple God: Embracing the Paradoxes of Christ and His Kingdom

  • Small Beginnings: A How-to Theology of Starting and Stopping

  • Unpredictable: A Handbook for Followers of the Unchanging, Yet Consistently Surprising God

  • Inevitable: Preparing for Your Future and Final Breaths

Of course, you can always explore my other themes or read my updates if there’s another topic that interests you, too.
