🎤 Speaking engagements
Looking for somebody to speak at an event or on your podcast?
Well, you may have just found your guy
I’ve been known to contribute my voice to various events, panels, podcasts, and the like. While I can speak at length about any of the themes I’m committed to—especially when it coincides with my most recent book—the thing that gets me most fired up and passionate about speaking is the opportunity to express my authentic voice and perspective in a way that’s tailored to the audience I’m speaking with (notice I said “with,” not “to”).
Whether it’s college students or senior citizens, focused entrepreneurs or busy parents, main stages or small groups, conferences or churches, I’ve done all of this and more—and I’d love to chat with you about your request.
What you should know
Before you do ask me to speak, I need to communicate a few things first. In no particular order…
As of this moment, I’m most interested in scheduling engagements that allow me to share more about my first book and how its message can help others. Consider that a friendly heads up.
I am not a “professional speaker,” I’m just a human who’s willing to show up and communicate in a way that I hope influences hearts and minds for good.
I will show up as my authentic self, so you should at least have a cursory knowledge of what to expect when you meet me. No hard feelings if I’m not quite your cup of tea.
We definitely don’t have to agree on the topic you’re inviting me to speak about. I’m always up for an honest, respectful conversation.
If you’re requesting me to speak on a panel or at an event, the lineup must be diverse. That means you’ll have women, people of color, and perspectives that aren’t necessarily like mine if you actually want me to speak. Because there are more than enough middle-aged white guys who have had their time.
Above everything, I will aim to build a relationship with you and make you feel loved as I speak with you and your audience. If you’re uncomfortable with that, I’m sorry—it’s why I exist.
If you need a media kit before or after I speak with you and your audience, I have one ready to go for you. How convenient.
Before you reach out to me, feel free to explore the rest of my life website so that you can approach me with the topic that achieves your goal. If you don’t have something in mind, that’s okay too. We can collaborate on an idea together. And if you want to give a listen to some of my past conversations before you reach out, go right ahead.
Thanks for your consideration. I really do look forward to hearing from—and speaking with—you.
